The Band Perry Reaps Rewards from CMA Awards Performance

From the press release:

The Band Perry always says "it takes a village to break a band." Last week, that sentiment culminated in a perfect storm of media exposure and radio play, causing a tremendous sales spike for the trio.

Currently holding the #4 spot at Country radio, the band benefited last week from the combined effect of a performance on the 44th Annual CMA Awards, an Associated Press print and online feature, an E! News "New Artist" segment airing on CMA night and online performances going live on RollingStone.com and Billboard.com. Sales of their album, The Band Perry, increased by 6% while single sales for "If I Die Young"
spiked 39%.

The Gold-certified single, "If I Die Young" is now approaching Platinum status as it nears sales of 1 million and the video for the hit is just clicks away from 10 Million views on YouTube.

Next up, the band will attend the American Music Awards as presenters (11/21), has three American Country Award nominations (12/6) and will perform on ABC's The View on Dec. 15.

While they didn't bring home the award for Best Vocal Group last week (that honor went to Lady Antebellum), The Band Perry was still a big winner that night.

Kimberly Perry said, "We were the rookies last week - it was our first nomination, our first time attending the CMA's - so we were just happy to be in the game! We're thrilled for Lady A, who's had an amazing year. It was great to be considered and great to share our music with everyone that night."

The trio of siblings, Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry have had one of the most impressive recent debuts in Country music. Before their album was even released, the band learned of their CMA nomination for Vocal Group of The Year. Shortly thereafter, the album was released on Oct 12, 2010 and entered the charts at #2 (Country) and #4 (Billboard Top 200). In fact, theirs was the highest debut by any Country group since 2006.
