Cyndi Lauper, Anna Paquin and Jason Mraz Give a Damn About Equality

You have to hand it to Cyndi Lauper. She not only "gives the business" to Donald Trump, but she also does a fair share of heavy-lifting to help work for equality. Case in point, a new online campaign from her True Colors Fund, pulling together some of her celebrity friends to say one simple thing: we give a damn about equality for LGBT people.

The site, Give a Damn, is a vehicle for all people (with a special nod for straight allies) to band together and fight for equality. Fighting for equality? Yeah, that's something you can do Time After Time, and All Through the Night.

But Cyndi Lauper puns aside, the site is already reaching out to tell the stories of LGBT families, including families from the group Immigration Equality. What do these families have to say? Well, they want folks to give a damn about LGBT-inclusive immigration reform, without which we can't unite LGBT families or protect LGBT students, who bear a huge burden under current, broken immigration laws.

Two campaign videos from Give a Damn launched this week (which you can view after the jump), making a bit of a splash in that during one of them, Tru Blood's Anna Paquin says she's a bisexual. Cue the tabloid headlines, but good for Paquin for an honest gesture that she could have kept quiet about (she's currently engaged to a man, her Tru Blood co-star Stephen Moyer).

Who else comes out to play in the videos? Jason Mraz. Sir Elton John. Sharon Osbourne. Cynthia Nixon. Whoopi Goldberg. Kelly Osbourne. Judith Light. And did I mention Jason Mraz? :) If you were wondering what an LGBT-friendly softball team for equality looked like, this is it.
Check out the videos after the jump, and sign on up at wegiveadamn.org.
